Calling all Quilters!

Would you like to show your work in the oldest annual quilt show in Kansas?

The Maple Leaf Festival Quilt Show is looking for quilts to display at the show held in conjunction with Baldwin City’s Maple Leaf Festival on October 18th -19th, 2008.  The theme for this years show is Sun Bonnet Sue and would love for quilters to submit their favorite Sun Bonnet Sue quilt.

We are looking for quilts of all sorts, sizes and ages. This is not a judged show, simply an opportunity to share the richness and history of a truly American art form. You are invited to share your quilts and their stories in a secure setting with a long tradition. There is not entry fee to show quilts. The only requirement is that your quilt has a hanging sleeve.

There will be a $50.00 cash prize for the viewers choice best exemplifying the theme and a $50.00 cash prize for viewers choice of the non-themed quilts.

The lecture this year will be presented by Helen Ericson on Sunday, October 19th and the topic will be on the history of the Sun Bonnet Sue using Betty Hagerman's notes.  Location to be determined at a later time.

For more information on the workshop or lecture, or to find out how to submit your quilts to the show, email info@mapleleaffestival.com or visit the Maple Leaf Festival web site.
